Can't export video

It never did this to me before. I try to export a video and it won't let me. I have a project that I have to export soon, and I can't, and it is bugging me. I need to find a way I can export it without errors. Any tips and tricks will be appreciated. Thanks.

What does it do when you attempt an export? Any error messages? What are your export settings? If yours a licensed version? What version?

Share the project and someone will test it. This can be done privately and it's not difficult. Just follow these steps...

Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file.
Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view"
Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared.

* Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

It refuses to export. Nothing works.
1. Nope.
2. I don't know my export settings.
3. Not sure if it is. I would be able to if I remembered using a registration key,

At the top-left of the window it should indicate license status...

Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.

Overinstall the current release. If no joy, first uninstall via Windows Control Panel | ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.

How do I open the export window? Can't get it open. Just uninstalled and stuff and nothing worked.

Did you install the version linked above?

To export, click EXPORT on the menu bar, the VIDEO FILE on the toolbar...

Does the export window appear?

Try another export format, such as AVI.

Yes, I installed the version linked.
It won't let me click EXPORT, and the window doesn't appear, therefore, I cannot set the thing to AVI or anything like that.

Go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files.

Reboot the PC. If it still won't bring up the export window...did you first Uninstall via Control Panel? If not, try that next.

Sign up for free drive space from another server, if possible, and share the project. Google Drive and MS OneDrive are candidates.

I did uninstall with control panel.
I can't sign up for drive space from another server for unknown reasons I can't figure out.
My OneDrive is disabled, and I ran out of OneDrive space anyway.

Rebooting didn't do a thing either.

There's never been an instance of the export window not opening, AFAIK.

If you have a Google Account, try https://drive.google.com The same ID/PW works for all Google accounts.

For a more complete uninstall, use Revo (free). When it prompts to delete registry entries, allow it. When done, reinstall VP.

I can't use drive at all.
Revo doesn't run at all. I can't uninstall through Revo, because it refuses to work.

This all hints at a PC issue. All those apps should run. It might be time to check in with a Microsoft forum...

I have done that before and it was no help at all.

I can get Revo running now but it won't let me uninstall.

Or try Videopad on another PC, if available.

I have no other pc than the one I am using right now. I use Windows 10.

Just letting you know that after several minutes, Revo is now giving me the option to uninstall. Don't know why it wasn't earlier. Does it normally do this?

Just uninstalled with Revo and did the scan. I am going to reinstall it and see if that fixed it.

Never has here. Still seems to be a broader PC issue, especially considering that it used to work but now doesn't - even after reinstalling VP - and that other apps are not responding normally.

Might be time to refresh Windows?

I can't refresh windows. I have no interest in that. I did finally use Revo after it now works, uninstalled Videopad, and reinstalled. Seems to work fine now but is going to stop working again. I just know errors are going to pop up again. Videopad is so bugged I wish they would just somehow fix all of it and create a patch for all of them. I am very cautious.

Doubtful that this is a bug, and as mentioned it's never before been reported. When issues are confirmed they are quickly addressed. Glad you worked it out.
