Another Shows wav files are corrupt works in media

When I try to use wav. files it says cannot open because codec is not installed or corrupt. It plays in Windows Media Player and still does not open here. I downloaded the atrac3 as suggested, but Windows doesn't recognize the file and neither did the website it directs you to try. Can you tell me what I need?

Did I misunderstand that it plays wav files?

what type of wave file is it? For example, have PCM wave, GSM wave, G.729 wave, etc. In the case of wave files, Switch supports whatever is supported on your computer - if you can find the codec needed for a wave file, you can install it and then Switch will work with that format.
