Hi I am new to all this I was sucessful at burning the dvd even though after burning it said no disk in drive, and there was. The dvd will play on my Windvd player on my laptop but will not play in any of my home dvds. I have used a dvd-r as I know these will play on my home dvd players. Whoever answers this question can you please make it as simple as possible, as I am just learning so I am not that savvy with computer language or that familiar with what everything is or means. Thank you
Hi,
Even though you are using a dvd-r that you know works on your player, the way that information is burn't to a dvd-r, is different to the way that it is written to a dvd+r. (basically, dvd+r is much superior to dvd-r.)
A dvd-r is more compatible with different players (its been around longer), but a dvd+r gets less errors when being written to.
I would suggest giving a dvd+r a try.
