Burning an image

Forgive me being a bit slow on the uptake but I have purchased a Samsung Blu Ray player and firmware updates are available. I have downloaded, unzipped and use the windows 'send to' facility to pop it on a disc and when inserting in the player it just either ejects or a message similar to "get a life numpty, this will never work!" :angry:

According to some very helpful chaps on an AV forum I need to burn it to a disc as an 'image;' I think using this software I have managed it but won't know until I try it tonight. My question was, ("yes do get on with it man.") what section on the express burn should I use to get the firmware to actually work on the player?

Hi Mike,

I think what has happened is you have downloaded an image file. so what you would need to do is "create" a disk from this image. not burn the image to a disk as a file. (image files are like a snapshot of a disk. when you create an image, its like a backup of a disk, so you can burn many disks the same from the image)

So what you would need to do is click "burner" -> "Write ISO image to a disk" this will create the install disk that you need from the image you have downloaded. then you can run the cd and install the firmware update.
