I'm having exactly the same problem with these Olympus DS5000 files - Express Scribe does NOT appear to support this file format at the moment & I have a client who is now using this format. Worst thing of all is that I cannot seem to find a player that DOES support it. I'm becoming extremely frustrated.

If anyone knows of any player that WILL play these files (and can provide a link to a site on the 'net where I can d/l it), it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

They have the link to the free "lite" version to play DS2 files buried in the FAQ for the DS-2400 here:

To use a pedal you can use the new DSS Player Standard Olympus is selling or ByteScribe claims to be able to play these now.

Because DSS Pro is a licenced format it is unlikely that NCH or any others will be able to support the .ds2 format. However there is a workaround. The DS-5000 & DS-5000iD have the ability to record audio in the older .dss format, as used by its predecessor the DS-4000, this format will work with Express Scribe.

Here is a video explaining how to set "classic mode" on the DS-5000 for your dictaphone users to refer to:

Hope that helps :-)
