Emailing files URGENT reply needed!

I am having trouble forwarding and emailing transcription files with extension .dct. The files do go through the email but the duration is 0, so essentially, it is just an empty shell of a dictation file that is received in the email.There is no voice.

These are files which I recorded from a tape recorder to the Express Scribe system using a cable from the tape recorder to the computer. They work just fine (voice recording is great!) until I try to send them to someone else via email as an attachment directly or indirectly after I transfer them to my document folder and then email as an attachment. Does anyone have a fix for this? Thanks

when you say they work fine, where are they working? If you havent already, try playing them in Windows media player incase a codec is required. MP will load it automatically if needed.

Every time you send a file over an e-mail - you are just giving your clients information away. Just so you know, use encryption. Any network guy can show you a spine tingling example of why you don't do this.
