I wish I knew more about all this but here goes. I want to use ExpressScribe with Stedman's Medical Transcription SkillBuilders Creating Cardiology and Creating Surgical Rports. When I try to load a dictation I get this message:
Unable to open dct or wav file because audio compression codec is not installed on this computer or the file is corrupt. If the problem persists see www.nch.com.au/scm for more information about codec. You might need to install further Audio Compression Manager codecs from your Windows CD-ROM. If it is not a wav file, try to open with Windows Media Play to auto-install codecs.
I have installed new codec files from the Microsoft site. At the suggestions of Stedman's "tech support" I uninstalled and then reinstalled QuickTime. At the suggestion of Dell tech support I did all kinds of things to no avail. I purchased tech support from this company but haven't heard anything yet. I'm 2 weeks behind in school and am afraid of failing due to technical difficulty. How awful. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
