Converting mpc to mp3

I have been trying to convert mpc to mp3 but I get an error message telling me that Switch cannot install the required install-on-demand component mpcdec. Please download it from www.nhc.au/components and install it manually.

I have downloaded this file to the same folder as other Switch components and double clicked it to run it. This has made no difference and I continue to get the same error message.

Can anyone help?

Have you tried restarting Switch after installing the component? Are you able to play the MPC file in any other media player (to ensure that the file is not corrupt)?
