DSS File Problems - Software conflict?

I have been following this problem with Express Scribe not being able to load dss files and I have a question for those that are having these problems....

On all of the machines that I have seen struggle with playing dss files, "Start/Stop Transcription" software was installed on each one either currently or at one time. Are there any other cases out there that match that?

I don't use Start/Stop, but I do have a similar program installed on my computer: Olympus Transcription Module. I know someone else who also uses the Olympus program and she has had no problems with Express Scribe on her computer.

The relationship I am looking for is "I can't play dss files in expres scribe - and I have had Start/Stop installed on my computer at one time"
