Smoothing Blocky Sounds

I managed to get the wav files off a bad audio CD using a great little program but the sound is very distorted.

Open this sample with PavePad, click "Zoom In" four or five times and click "Wave display dual left and right channels".

Notice the waves are blocky.

Can anybody make this sample sound better?

As the original audio is likely lost, there is little chance that you're going to be able to restore them perfectly. I would suggest finding an alternate source for the audio you're trying to obtain.
