Issues with my cellphone

Ok, I really would appreciate anyone's help with my problem. I chose a song and took the clip that I wanted as a ringtone. I saved it on my micro SD card and put it in "My sounds" folder. I have no idea what format or requirements there are for my phone to read the ringtone. I have the Verizon Wireless Samsung u740. Thanks everyone.

Have a look through the manual for the phone, it should tell you exactly what format it needs to be. Also check out their website as they often provide tools for converting to their audio format (if they require a specific proprietary type).
