I am asking for help to setup IVM to connect to a Panasonic KX TEB PABX.
My calls come in on the PABX and are sent to the extensions by an OGM and DISA to the extensions.
Currently the PABX is linked via an analog extension and a US Robotics Sportster voice modem to a
Toshiba Laptop running the IVM software. Testing so far indicates all components work well together.
What I would like to setup is that in the event of a busy/no answer the call is directed via an extension
Directly to the correct IVM mailbox and an alert is sent back to the extension that there is a new message.
My reading of the IVM information suggests this is possible?
On the Voicemail Integration Tab of my PABX I have the 3 options:
1. Cancel
2. A: send ext no.
3. B: send #6+ext no.
So far I have been able to transfer a busy/no answer call to IVM and via an OGM navigate to a mailbox however
I would like calls to go directly to the called extensions mailbox.
I have studied the help file, below, whereas much of what is included is obvious I am uncertain about 2 – maximum digits 5 - dial strings
Connecting to telephone key systems or PBXs*
Most PBXs can be programmed to send a DTMF dial string (inband signalling) when the IVM picks up the call. This string of digits is dialled within a short time after answering. You need to find the format of this string in the PBX manual.
Once you know the format of the dial string:
1 - On the Key Response tab of OGM Properties select "Data-Entry".
2 - In the maximum digits field enter the number of digits the PBX will send.
3 - Tick the "Allow # in data entry" field.
4 - Tick the "Use special digits mapping function".
5 - Click Settings button next to it. In the box next to "Advanced parsing dial string" enter the dial string in the form XXXX111XXX where 1 corresponds to the intended extension number digits and X are digits to be ignored. In the box to the left of 1 enter mailboxno (all one word all lower case).
6 - On the Message tab of OGM Properties next to "Then" select 'Leave Message for Mailbox' and type: MailBox%mailboxno%
If your PBX redirects a call meant for extension 123 it will leave it in MailBox123. You can change the settings of the "Default" mailbox if required.
On some PBXs you can also dial a string to turn off or on a message waiting light. To do this, use the "Mailbox Message Notification" options of MailBox properties.
Any help greatly appreciated.
