MIDI to MP3 files play but no sound

I know this has been asked before, and the answers have all been 'but you are trying to convert from a protected format'.

But not in my case - I generated a MIDI file from a tune I input into Noteworthy Composer, converted to MP3 using Switch. The MP3 file is picked up by iTunes, and judging by the counter thingy at the top of the screen, is actually playing, BUT I GET NO SOUND!

HELP!

Are you able to play the mp3 file within Switch itself? What version of Switch are you using? The latest version will contain fixes relating to some conversion issues.

Version 1.25, downloaded a week ago, and no, it won't play the file.

I just had exactly the same problem and fixed it by changing the Instrument Patch name under Staff Properties in Noteworthy. If you have used a Sample Template when you created your new Noteworthy staff you may find that the Instrument is set to <none> for each staff. It will play in Noteworthy, but it won't play in Switch. I changed the Instrument patch from <none> to Voice oohs and the conversion worked for me no problem.
