I'm fairly new to Express Scribe. I have a WMA (Windows Media Audio) file that is supposed to be 43 minutes long. When I open it in Express Scribe it show a time of 09:58:36 and a duration of 02:37.
I had a similar problem the first time I tried to use Express Scribe - it showed that the file I was using then had a duration of 0. Since that was only a test file, it didn't really matter. After that I did use Express Scribe to successful work with a couple of files but, unfortunately, I don't remember if they were WMA files or something else.
I know the entire WMA file I'm trying to work with now is there because the entire file will play when I open it with Windows Media Player - the full 43 minutes.
Any suggestions?
Also, just as an aside, can anyone tell me what exactly "time" and "duration" are supposed to mean? I can't find an answer to this in the online documentation for Express Scribe.
Thanks,
Tina
