Express Scribe stores the loaded dictations on the following folder: C:\Documents and Settings[Windows Username]\Application Data\NCH Swift Sound\scribe. If you can't view the folder you may need to enable viewing of hidden folders from Windows Explorer. You cannot change this folders location, as it would result in unusual behaviour.
What you should try and setup is a network folder (or FTP server) which your Express Scribes would auto load from (the Incoming option in the Express Scribe Settings). You would use the "Manual (one at a time)" option.
Thank you. You are quite right about where files are copied to.
Yes, it is no problem creating a NW store to load FROM. However, consider the following
Computer A: "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\NCH Swift Sound\scribe\" no files
Computer B: "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\NCH Swift Sound\scribe\" no files
Autoload for A and B set to the network central store
Autoload clock for A comes in first --> files A,B,C on computer B as files 1,2,3
Autoload clock for B comes in some other time later --> files D,E,F on computer B as files 1,2,3
Secretary Starts typing at A
Deletes files as finishes
-->Eventually "C:\Documents and Settings\[Windows Username]\Application Data\NCH Swift Sound\scribe\" files are out of sync for computers A and B becomes very messy to try and keep the two directories in sync.
Is it possible to change the location scribes loads to/looks in for.
Alternatively, do you have some other solution (eg. Batch file copying to/from a central repository when user starts/stops scribe).
Thanks again for the quick response.
