Converting wav file in Switch

I have converted a wav file in Switch. Loads ok into ExpressScribe but when I play it, the file simply repeats words - like a record where the needle gets stuck. Can anyone help? ExpressScribe wouldn't load the wav file, telling me it did not have the codec. The wav file is an MPEG Audio Lay 3 128 kbps file.

Try renaming the extension of the file from ".wav" to ".mp3" and then see if Express Scribe is able to open it. If the converted file repeats words then it's likely in the original also. You should be able to play this using Windows Media Player to confirm this.
