Mp3 convert to m4a, but file is to long

After converting mp3 into m4a the filesize is smaller, but the track lenght is much to long. A track wich is in mp3 3:30min is in m4a about 20min long! First the normal track is to hear and after that is nothing.

Is ist a known bug?

I use win XP Home and v.1.12

It is likely that it was an incorrectly encoded mp3, which reported the wrong audio length. Switch then attempted to convert, what it was told, was a long file which resulted in the 'empty' audio.
