mkamioner Hello All I want to be able to use Express Scribe when I double-click on a file, but every time I do it gets added to the list and eventually my list keeps growing! Is there a way to just simply play an audio file so that Express Scribe has no memory of the transaction. Thanks Mo Kamioner
phusion1337 I too am having this same problem. I'm not sure if this is due to the new version or not, but I always remember being able to associate .wav files from the "File" settings, and when I double-clicked on a WAV file on my computer, Express Scribe would immediatley start playing the file. Anybody have any ideas?
MTD Well this is frustrating. When double-clicking a file, the program should open and the file should start playing.

Why not open Scribe first, and then play the file, since it's obviously there. But Scribe does copy most files to a form of wav, which are quite large, so you can't keep files there forever unless you have lots of HD space. To completely delete Scribe files, use ctrl delete.
mkamioner But the whole point is that you can just click it once. Like if you want to automate it to run one file and the delete it. Don't make the user click twice. It should just be once.
[deleted] Scribe is a transcribers assistant, it is not designed to be a play-and-click media player. I'll forward your comments on to the developers to possibly include an option to play the newly loaded file instead of queuing it, but it will always remain in the list of dictations until it has been marked as done.
mkamioner Are there any work arounds currently? I am in need of a product that will play many different types (incl .dss), can use a footpedal and will play automatically. Not so much a manager, more like a player... Anybody have any suggestions? Mo
[deleted] Just make sure the "ToDo" list in Express Scribe is always empty... When you're done with a file, mark it as done and it will disappear.
