Trouble, please help

I am recording electric guitar with a microphone onto wavepad. When I listen to the recording it sounds fine for the first 5-10 seconds, then it becomes much quieter and it sounds like the flanger is on. I don't know how to fix this and record without this problem. I haven't turned on any effects.

Are you doing anything special at that time with the guitar? Try playing something simple like the same note repeatedly for a while and see if this still occurs. It may be that something in the microphone is causing this distortion or some other interference on your PC (WavePad simply saves whatever is sent to it via the soundcard)
