Karley Is there any update for Windows Vista Users? Since Express Scribe won't play files and there hasn't been a successful solution yet, does anyone know of any player to use in the meantime? I'm losing work, clients, etc and I am NOT happy.
[deleted] Express Scribe will play files fine, it is fully compatible with Vista. If you are unable to play a file for some reason please see if you are able to play the file in Windows Media Player. If you are referring to the DSP Group TrueSpeech issue, this is between DSP Group and Microsoft (and has absolutely nothing to do with us!). Currently there is no legal way to play DSP Group TrueSpeech encoded files in Vista. If this is the issue then simply suggest to your clients to use a different codec. You can view a comparison of the highly used ones here: www.nch.com.au/acm.
aburrow I am still not able to play my files on Vista. I did a test today and it worked, but I just received some files from my doctor, which was .DSS files, and it will not play them. Any suggestions, like fast!
sourpickles Hi, I'm also having problems with express scribe since I upgraded to windows vista... I also have .dss files which I can't play on windows media player (it doesn't read them) and am losing work too. Please advise, Sam
blueviolets Hi I need to find out if there is a footpedal solution for windows vista yet. I am brand new at this and need to get setup to start transcribing. Thanks for any help.
[deleted] To our knowledge there are no footpedal issues with Vista. All the pedals sold via AltoEdge are supported.
