Even a voice modem requires compliant TAPI drivers. Go to the Windows Control Panel double click on the Multimedia and pull down the "Audio - Sound Playback" list. Your voice modem should be listed. If it is not listed then voice modem TAPI drivers are not installed. When this happens the IVM messages are delivered over the computer speakers even when an actual call is answered
I don't see multimedia in the controlpanel. How can I check the tapi drivers?
I've tried five different modems all voice capable. 3 intern and 2 extern everyone off them has the same result. no respons on keypress. The modems are all with different chips. Conextant, Lucent and some others. So it must be the software, is there some way to test the key press, perhaps with hyperterminal? How do I make connectuion to see if there is a respons when a key is pressed? Could it be the phone provider? When on normal phone a caller presses a key I hear a tone, so the tones are coming in over the line. Could i t be a different sound form the provider? I'm in Holland with @[deleted] telephony as provider, they have a FSK signal. Is there a way to test things?
