I saw another topic/problem that looked similar, and see that that person changed the format of files to aiff in iTunes and seemed to get along okay. (I don't know how to do that file conversion... and am not entirely sure we have the same problem, after all).
I am working on a Mac, trying to load .wma files from a cd (from someone with a pc). I had trouble loading the files in the first place - I had to allow all applications because Express Scribe was not in the list of recommended applications. (Alternately, I was able to drag and drop the files into Express Scribe once they had been transferred from the cd onto my hard drive).
But the files show up with no duration and don't play!
Any ideas? Or, any specific instructions on how to change a .wma into an .aiff file?
