ACM codec not installed on this PC

I have used WavePad on my old PC for a long time to cut .wav file (copy from vinyl) into multiple files.

Now I have a new PC. Have installed WavePad 3.0.2 and have problems. When I want to open a .wav file I got the error message:

Cannot open the file c:\...... because the required ACM codec is not installed on the PC.

Open the file with Windows Media Player to auto-install the codec then reattempt to load it.

Opened with WMP, but does not help.

Can anybody help, please.

Now, I know the reason for my problem.

Wavepad is simply supporting 8 and 16 bit wav file, only. 24 bit and 32 bit is not supported.

As roxo11 has stated we do not support 24 or 32 bit files (yet). If you can play it in Windows Media Player then you can simply use SoundTap to convert the audio to a 16 bit file.
