To start with it should be mentioned that the system is good so far.
The problem arises when a message is recorded. Sometimes the message is perfect, other times it's the 6 (not always) seconds from the center, or the end, or possibly the first half. There is no distinct reasoning behind when the software decides to cut the messages
. I have turned the record time to 30 minutes, but this doesn't help. I have also turned down all the dB related options so that the volume the person is talking at isn't the issue. The encoding is set to PCM at 48000kHz stereo 97kB/s so that compression isn't the problem.
The problem appears to be the software not recording properly. The phone call is answered, the answering machine message is played, the recording appears to start and the call is maintained till the other person hangs up, but the call recording isn't everything that was said a lot of the time.
I can't get information atm because the system is not connected to the Internet, however I can tell you anything you need to know within 24 hours. The system is (I think) a P4 830 with 1GB of RAM and 250GB of hard drive space. The OS is Windows XP and the Modems are Agere Systems 56k Phone/Fax Modems which are TAPI compliant. This is really killing my reputation and the customers are getting annoyed that their orders aren't being taken.
