No Auto Loop function?

I always used a Sony IC recorder with foot pedal for transcription work.

Hit the foot pedal and the cassette tape automatically looped the past 8 seconds.

(Newer models did 16 seconds).

I found that looping function essential.

Is there even a remote chance that this could be built in to the software?

I'm using OS X, and another program is looking like a better candidate for my transcription needs.
