mixing problem in wavepad

I have a problem mixing files in wave pad. Everytime I go to mix in a file, the source file starts over at the beginning, plays up to the point where I put the new file, and stops. The only way I've seen to fix this is to hit end and start the file again, but its not feasible to do this everytime I want to mix a file.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? I'd hate to be wasting 50 bucks on something completely useless to me.

Have you tried MixPad?

Tried it, though its not very accessible to screen reading software like wave pad is. My friend uses WavePad for all of his mixing and he does not have this problem. What has changed in later versions?
