marking tracks in file?

OK, I'm new to Wavepad, so maybe this is easy, or maybe impossible...

I've just recorded an old cassette of songs and exported it out to cd as a test. It's all one long contiguous track.

Now I'd go back into the Wavepad file and mark each song in the file as a single track, so WMV (or whatever) sees it as 12 separate tracks. (like songs on a cd) Is there a simple way to do that?

Or do you have to cut up the tracks from the cassette into all single song files? See

You can use bookmarks to distinguish the various songs within a single, long file that you are editing with WavePad. You then use have a number of bookmarks, which you convert to separate "regions" by a straightforward process that is explained in the WavePad instructions. Each region is named and becomes an individual track on a CD, assuming that this is what you want to do.

The process of bookmarking, region naming, etc. is not difficult. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.
