nchtj the only way is to try using SoundTap to record the file as its playing. Get SoundTap here: http://www.nch.com.au/soundtap/index.html and no there is no other *legal* way to do it, the only methods available for doing direct conversion of iTunes protected files are illegal and may attract the wrath of Apple.
