Height of audio track

Julia_Fox

I've just updated the videoPad and an important feature has disappeared.
I'm constantly dealing with very quiet sound, like whispers, so I used to expand the visibility of the sound tracks with the feature that was displayed on the left at the start of the audio track, just next to the volume icon. It increased the visibility and height of the sound bars, without increasing the volume, just to make editing easier. Now this feature is gone. Does anyone know how I can expand the visibility and height of the track. I know how to expand the track and increase the space, but that's not what I'm after.
The version I'm using is 18.46
Thank you for help

Right-click in the left-side area, then...

Expand_audio_track.mp4

If there is no Display Waveform Zoom choice, reinstall Videopad. It may take several attempts before the feature appears. No need to re-download.

Thank you, that is what I need, unfortunately I don't have that option. I tried multiple times and reinstalled it. Is there another way of displaying that?

It can indeed take multiple installs. And may show up in different ways. Here, another install of the 32-bit release produced this result...

Clicking on the + icon brings up the vertical slider.

You can also double-click the audio track to see a larger waveform in the preview window, which can be horizontally stretched for greater detail...

I’ve had the same issue with quiet recordings where the waveform is technically there but almost impossible to see clearly. A waveform/vertical zoom option is really useful for this because it makes the details easier to spot without actually changing the audio level. I’ve also found that having quick access to simple audio controls can make editing a bit less frustrating when working with quieter clips.
