Record volume

Bear with me I am very new to this. I downloaded Wavepad as I want to record radio drama from the BBC and other stations in USA or Canada.

Downloaded ok and when I pressed record everything went fine. It recorded a play or some music but when I pressed the Play button I could barely hear anything.

It has obviously recorded but try as I might I cannot get the system to play back at a reasonable level of volume for me to transfer it to a memory stick.

I am sure that all I need to do is fiddle around with some settings but I have had no luck. The sytem has taken me to graphs and levels and lots of other features but none get me to a decent volume level.

Can anyone advise or direct me to a Video tutorial or something that can help?

Open your file in WavePad. Highlight the part you want to adjust, or press Ctrl+A to select the whole file.

Go to Effects > Amplify. Move the slider or type a percentage. Click Apply or OK to save the change.

If the record volume is low, go to Options > Recording and adjust the recording volume there. WavePad also notes that some devices let you change Master Volume directly in the Recording Options window.

If the issue is with Windows, right-click the speaker icon at the right-bottom of the screen. Choose Open Volume Mixer. Confirm that all sliders are set to far right.
