Add a voice track by creating a new track, then arm that track for recording and record your voice onto it. NCH’s help says you can add a new track with Ctrl+T, the Add track icon, or Track > Add Track, and their voice-recording tutorial says to click the track’s record icon and then press the main Record button to start recording.
Quick steps
- Add a new track: press Ctrl+T, or choose Track > Add Track.
- Select the track you want to use for vocals, then click its record/arm icon so it turns red.
- Click the main Record button at the bottom of the window, speak into your microphone, then click Stop when done.
- If you want to hear the beat while recording, load the beat on one track and record your voice on a different track.
Helpful tip
If you hear other tracks distracting you while recording, you can solo the vocal track or mute the tracks you do not want to hear during recording.
