"Why it loops only on playback
- The regular Loop button causes the selected range to repeat during playback only.
- Loop recording is a different mode that must be enabled for takes to loop while you are actually recording.
How to make it loop while recording
Follow these steps:
- Click and drag on the timeline to select the section you want to loop (start and end points).
- Turn on Loop mode (loop play) so that selection is active.
- Arm the track(s) you want to record to by pressing the Rec button on each track.
- Enable “loop recording for multiple takes” – the loop recording icon is next to the loop play button above the track list and shows a small red record circle when active.
- Place the cursor at the start of the selection, then click the main Record button.
- MixPad will now loop between the selection start and end while recording, creating a new take on each pass until you hit Stop.
Things to double‑check
- Make sure you selected a region on the timeline; without a selection, loop recording will not engage even if the buttons are lit.
- Confirm the loop recording icon (not just loop play) is enabled; it should show the red record circle, not gray.
- Start recording from before the selected region; MixPad loops only within that selection while recording."
