If the "Max Record Time" option is missing from your
Recording tab, it likely means you are using a version or platform (like the standard Windows desktop version) where WavePad is designed to record continuously by default until you manually stop it or run out of disk space.
If your recording is still stopping early, check these alternative settings:
Advanced Record Options: Click the Record button in the main toolbar to open the "Record Control" window. Look for an Advanced Record Options button or link within that specific window. In lieu of that, try checking the Safe Control option under OPTIONS | SETTINGS | RECORD tab.
Silence Threshold (Voice Activation): If "Voice Activated Recording" is enabled under Options > Recording, WavePad will stop when it detects silence. Ensure this is unchecked to record continuously.
Punch and Roll Mode: If you are using the "Punch and Roll" feature, ensure the mode is set to Flexible. If it is set to Fixed, it will automatically stop after a pre-selected duration.
Auto-Trim Settings: Some versions have an "Auto-trim" or "Silence removal" feature that can make a recording appear shorter by cutting out the beginning or end. Check the Tools or Effects menus to see if these are active during recording.
Working Folder Space: If WavePad stops due to lack of space, check Options > Audio and see where your Audio Working Folder is located. You may need to change it to a drive with more storage.
