I did find out some more information. If I have the disc recorder connected when I shut down, it shuts down fine. If it is disconnected before, then it hangs up. That is what I did the first time. Then the other times, I just started the software without the drive to learn more on how to use the software and it had the same issue.
So for now, always need to shut down the software first and then disconnect the drive.
