Help! My v20.59 version does not work

Just purchased and installed this new version v20.59, and when I open my old file (saved using an older wavepad version 13.?? which worked nicely) or an mp3 file, the wave file opens but when I click the play button, the player does not move on the timescale; it just stays on the same timescale spot repeatedly playing the same sound on that spot. What is going on? What should I do?

Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, right-click the link and Share or Copy. Copy the result and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, click SHARE | SHARE and change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view.**

Don't forget to change "restricted" to "anyone can view" if using Google Drive.
