Videopad is uploading my video files as audio files and I don't know why it keeps doing that.

It's likely the file encoding. Share one and it will be checked out. Where did you get these files?

Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, right-click the link and Share or Copy. Copy the result and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, click SHARE | SHARE and change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view.**

I don't think it's the .mp4 files that are the problem, they play perfectly fine on VLC Media Player. I right-clicked-and-saved the video file from a social media website.

Can't tell until you share a file. The format may be one that VP (and other editors) don't support. Upload.

It's apparently the encoding.

Audio only in another editing program; loaded and plays in VP beta, but only when the file itself is right-clicked (in Windows Explorer), then Added To VP Project.

If instead Add File is used in Videopad the file loads but video freezes. This odd behavior has been reported.

If it won't load in your version, re-encode the file with this free utility.
