Taking snapshots and stitching

Rayj00

So right now I am using Win Movie Maker, which has a "snapshot" button. I use the created snapshot to be the starting frame for my next Ai generated video. I then stitch it to the previous video scene.

Question: Does VideoPad have something similar? I'd like to be able to vary the snapshot resolution also.

I don't think Win Movie Maker is supported by M$ any longer so I'm looking for something else that does not cost an arm and a leg.

A right-click in the preview window offers many resolution choices to capture the clip or sequence, depending upon which is being displayed.

Also, <ctrl-shift-F11> should take a snapshot of the clip.

Videopad can be test driven during a trial period.

Where would you rate VideoPad for creating videos?

AI sums it up fairly...

VideoPad is widely regarded as a solid choice for beginner and intermediate video editors, offering an easy-to-use interface with a decent range of features suitable for basic projects. Reviews note its strength in simplicity, format compatibility, and useful tools such as support for 360-degree video, multiple export options, and a collection of basic effects and transitions.

The platform is often cited as a cost-effective alternative to pricier video editing software, and it rates highly on ease of use, especially for those moving up from very basic editors like Windows Movie Maker

Overall, VideoPad is best rated for entry-level to intermediate creators looking for an intuitive, affordable, and functional video editor for basic to moderately complex projects.

Experiment with it, and check out the tutorials. Here is the free version, which is limited in options.

Thanks Borate. I'll definitely look into using VideoPad.

Bear in mind that video editing is resource intensive. For complex, lengthy projects a gaming-class PC is often recommended.

Videopad comes in 32- and 64-bit varieties. What's offered on the WEBsite can vary. 64 is recommended.

About the only thing I'll be doing with it is stitching Ai Video's together and creating mp4's.

VP should serve you well. Just have patience - there's a learning curve - but some other editing programs are more daunting.

As you edit, regularly Save Project File AS, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, the AS choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. That way you're protected, and shouldn't lose anything.
