Default Location for Saved Files

How can I change file location when saving files? Using "save-as" and hunting for the directory and sub-directory and file where I need to save it is way too much work.

"Currently, WavePad doesn’t offer a built-in setting to globally change the default “Save As” folder in the app preferences. The save dialog defaults to your operating system’s “last used” folder. Therefore:

The easiest way to reduce “Save As” navigation is to manually save once to your desired project folder.
After that, pressing “Ctrl + S” or using the regular “Save” command will repeatedly save files to that same location automatically.

In short: WavePad remembers your last used or source file directory for saves, but it doesn’t have a permanent “default folder” option in-app. To streamline work, open files directly from your target folder at the start, or perform one “Save As” per project and then use quick saves thereafter."

Half correct. When I'm wanting to save the file I'm working on (i.e.: editing), it remembers where it's stored when I save it. However, when I copy a portion of that file, create a new one with that edit, then want to save it, it repetitively saves to "Music" file.

Thanks for checking on this. Evidently NCH doesn't have a solution.

If you are being correctly understood, that's not what is seen here.

Loaded a file, cut out a chunk, then File|Save As to the Documents folder.

Selected a segment of the same file, copied it, pasted it into a New File window.

When Save was clicked Explorer displayed the Documents folder, to be saved there.

Still, a default save folder would be handy. File a suggestion by clicking the caret at the top-right of the WP window.
