How to import photos and videos so that they remain in chronological order

I can import both but they go to separate image and video file lists which are probably in order but of course I need to mix them and I cannot now put them back into chronological order without doing a lot of work, checking each file. What's the solution?

This may help.

Click the + sign to the right of the Images tab to add a new bin...

Click the Video tab and select (highlight) all with <ctrl-A>. Click the New Bin tab and use <ctrl-Z> to paste. Do the same with the clips in the Images bin.

All clips are now available in a single bin and, separately, in the individual bins.

Yes thank you. Using the add new bin button allowed them all to transfer together unlike other methods. Great advice!
