Dear NCH Support Team,
On October 1st, we experienced a critical issue with our Dial Dictate instance that caused significant disruption to our operations. Upon investigation, we identified that one of the clinic accounts had a dictation file whose size was increasing abnormally and continuously, eventually consuming all available space on the C: drive (which initially had approximately 15 GB of free space).
As a result, the Windows Server became inaccessible, RDP connections were disconnected, Serv-U FTP service stopped working, and several other dictation files that were being processed at that time became corrupted. This behavior is unprecedented—we have never encountered such an issue with Dial Dictate in the past.
We reviewed the Windows Event Viewer and application logs, but did not find any relevant errors or indications of what triggered the abnormal file growth.
Kindly assist us with the following:
Could you please confirm if this is a known issue or if any other customers have reported similar behavior in the past?
What corrective actions or preventive measures do you recommend to avoid recurrence of such incidents in the future?
We appreciate your prompt assistance, as this incident had a significant operational impact.
Best regards,
Pankaj Dave
