Motion and position are completely broken

Title says it all. The ability to use the motion or position effects, two that I have used for years for various video effects just don't work in 17.39. I'm using the 64X version as if that made a difference but everything I use suddenly is suddenly squashed thin like a rail no matter what other effects I have applied. It *SOMETIMES* works when I apply the effect from the images tab but other times it doesn't. Both tools just do not function properly anymore. I attached some images of what this glitch looks like and if anyone can save the few hairs left in my head after I tore the rest out trying to fix this, I'd love to know.

Unable to replicate that here. Crop, position, motion all seem to be normal. Install this release, even though it may appear to be the same as yours.

If nothing changes, share a project where things don't look right. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps...

Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. No need to upload the individual VPJ or export file.
Get link --- Right-click the file and click SHARE. If using Google, right-click the file, click SHARE | SHARE. Change "restricted" to "anyone ... can view"
Share --- Click COPY LINK or OK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately. It won't be shared.

* Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server and remember to change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view" if using Google Drive for the upload.
