"Save as" project in its original folder

When "Saving as" a project, how can I ask VideoPad to offer always automatically the folder, where the project has been stored until now?

On the toolbar, click SAVE PROJECT. No folder will open, but the existing file will be overwritten...

Use Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. From the HOME tab, the AS choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. That way you're protected, and shouldn't lose anything.

I am sorry, my question wasn't clear enough. When I follow the procedure that you describe, VP offers me the folder that it has used recently, e.g. the folder of source files, or a folder of another project file. It is confusing and it can result in saving my project in a completely different location than I intended. Next time I want to open the project it may seem to have been lost, because it is not where I suppose it to be and I don't know where to look for it. Can I in this case make VP to always offer the folder which the project was opened from?

Normally, VP saves to the folder used by the source files. Thereafter, using SAVE overwrites the VPJ file in that folder.

Use Save AS once, to another folder, and that folder becomes the VPJ Save AS location, and remains so even if another project is later opened via the caret to the right of the Open icon | recent files drop-down menu.

If instead a VPJ is opened via Menu | FILE | OPEN PROJECT FILE, then the Save AS choice will switch to the folder where that project resides.
