Blank video after exporting

I've had this problem a couple of times recently. Sometimes after multiple edits I'll export and the resulting video will have completely blank sections.

the audio is there but no video. It's quite a long edit, but I have it occasionally with shorter videos as well.

Any ideas I'd be very grateful.

What version? Click the menu (top-left) | HELP | ABOUT to find out.

Install this release and please report back whether the issue still occurs.

For one-time licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If there's an issue, you can always revert.

Newer releases can be test driven, even if not licensed. You might want to check that out.

Before loading a project go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. May help.

That's great will have a look at this.

Just looked I'm guessing I'll have to pay a fee to upgrade (I'm fine with that, I love the software). Just wanted to check how I retain the old install file and registration info (I have access to registration key on my email).

Do I just copy the whole nch folder across somewhere?

All Videopad installers are available here for download. Ignore any security warnings.

No need to copy any folders or uninstall the existing version first. Just over-install.

To protect your work, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, the AS choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.

Updated the software, deleted the cache and did a new export. this time all the video is black screen. Showing fine in videopad just not exporting any video.

Odd. You are using the release linked above?

After saving, and deleting some of the project, does the remainder export normally? If not, go to OPTIONS | ADVANCED tab and in the GPU section choose None (CPU Only). Does this make a difference? Switch back to the default if not. What video adapter/card is in use?

If still no joy, please share the project for analysis, so this can be solved. Follow these steps, on-by-one. Don't skip any. And if using Google Drive for the upload don't forget to change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."

If you feel that the project is too big to upload, delete half of it (after saving, of course) and follow the procedure here to share it.

Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. No need to upload the individual VPJ or export file.
Get link --- Right-click the file and click SHARE. If using Google, right-click the file, click SHARE | SHARE. Change "restricted" to "anyone ... can view"
Share --- Click COPY LINK or OK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately. It won't be shared.

* Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

This is really odd. Deleted the cache again. Shut the program down. Reloaded it and the file. Did another export and it is all fine. It's exported perfectly.

Thank you so much for your time and help with this. Hopefully the issue has been permanently resolved with the new version.
