Backscatter underwater photos

Hi, Im new to this forum and not hugely computer literate! I do a small amount of underwater photos and I looking for a simple way to remove backscatter/spots from my underwater photos, any suggestions?

In the past there was a 'spot remover' in the basic photo editing tool which was along with the digital photo, alas it now appears to be gone. I basically chose the size of 'spot' I wanted to use and just 'dabbed' away!! Results were good enough for me.

"NCH PhotoPad no longer has a dedicated "spot remover" tool labeled as such, but you can still remove backscatter or small spots from underwater photos using the Remove Object feature in the Retouch tab.
