Freeze-frame after cut

After exporting, the first two seconds are a freeze-frame, but the sound is played. I made a cut in the middle of the video and the same thing happens immediately afterward. How can I fix this?

I already re-installed videopad and cleared the cache.

What version? Look at the left-bottom corner of the window, or Menu | HELP | ABOUT.

Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc. - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. No need to upload the individual VPJ or export file.
Get link --- Right-click the file and click SHARE. If using Google, right-click the file, click SHARE | SHARE. Change "restricted" to "anyone ... can view"
Share --- Click COPY LINK or OK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately. It won't be shared.

Don't forget to change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view" if using Google Drive.

The version is 17.30. I worked with this version a few days ago without problems. I also tried exporting in 3 different formats, but the issues appeared every time.

Can't say what, but there's something funky about that MKV file. Reencode it and it will work.

Okay, so you're absolutely right about the funky MKV file. I tried a MP4 and an AVI video, both of them worked just fine. My best guess is an OBS update which was released 4 days ago and most likely messed up my recordings. I will install the OBS version I had before that, and that will hopefully fix it.

I have 4 more funky MKV videos, but converting them as a whole to an AVI (I prefer AVI over MP4) format and then editing those files in videopad seems to do the trick.
