If WavePad (or related NCH entries) does not appear in Startup or Settings, you may need to check the registry or use system tools like MSConfig or Autoruns as a last resort, but this is rarely necessary for common applications.
See if this has been inadvertently configured in the Window registry...
- Open Registry Editor: Press the Windows key + R, type
regedit, and press Enter.
- Navigate to the Run key: Go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
- Create a new string value: Right-click in the right panel, select "New" > "String Value", and name it something descriptive (e.g., "Wavepad").
- Set the value data: Right-click the new string value, select "Modify", and paste the full path to the Wavepad executable (e.g.,
"C:\Program Files\WavePad\WavePad.exe").
If so, delete it.
And you checked here? C:\Users\<PC name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
