Cross Fade To Other Clip issue help

Hi I'm new to Wavepad but everything so seems straightforward except this....

I'm doing a live album of multiple bands and I need to do some fading in of some tracks to give continuity

I've done 1 track (with 3 songs) and need to cross fade into the track 2 which has 2 songs

When I go into the open settings for crossfade to clip all is good and I'm happy with the sound mix preview.

But when I click 'ok', yes it does the cross fade at the desired spot but for some reason I just can't work out it cuts out at some point in song 1 of track 2 instead of having both songs.

Can anyone help please?

Have you inadvertently selected a portion of the clip being faded INto?

Here, that's shown in teal color. Playback will cease at the end of the selection.

How did you add an image? If I know how to do that I can screenshot the problem to show you.

I will check your comment, but I don't see how I could as you

1) Have file 1 open and put cursor where to start fade

2) Open up the config box and select file (2) to fade into

3) Check in the preview

4) Save it

So I don't touch file 2

Let's see what you have...

Once the project is loaded fully, click the Menu (top-left), then FILE | SAVE PROJECT AS. Upload that file to a free server.

If using Google, right-click the file, click SHARE | SHARE. Change "restricted" to "anyone ... can view"

Click COPY LINK and paste that link here.

Pasting a link to an image is done exactly the same way. When the link is clicked, the image will display.

Unable to replicate your results. The project attached here uses a different second file, for contrast, but that file is not abridged.

It will open Wavepad, with the crossfade at approximately 5:55.

Follow the above instructions to share the WPP project (similar to the attachment below) - not individual files, and post the link.

Try this - this is the project. I have no problem with applying the crossfade at the desired time location. The issue is the crossfade file being truncated as in the project below.

If you are signed in the attachment above should be available for download; But no matter...

Seems that we are getting different results.

You might try uninstalling WP, using this free tool. Scan and delete the registry entries that it finds as well. Then reinstall and reregister.

Hi Borate, yours is truncated as well in the same place (first song truncated and second track not even there) - the combined fade-in track (s) should be some 16 mins

Should I still uninstall?

Seeing that now, and this may be simply a misunderstanding. No need to reinstall.

Load the first file (6:00). Click the Edit menu, then the INSERT FILE toolbar icon at end and load the second file (10:00).

Timeline now shows about 16:00.

Make a selection by dragging the center of the red cursor from approximately 5:55 to 6:05. The selection area will change color...

Go to the Effects menu and click the Fade toolbar icon. Click on Crossfade Selection. The result should look something like this.

Adjust the white squares to taste.

Click the Crossfade button.

Another method...

Load the first file. Click the Effects menu, the click the caret to the right of the Fade toolbar icon.

Choose Crossfade to Clip and End for the position.

In the Crossfade box, choose Open Settings and set the end time to 5:58 or so. It should look something like this...

Click the Crossfade button, then OK. Result is 16:00.
