Recorded message discarded because it was too shor

I've found that any incoming message less than 5 seconds in length is discarded. I can't find a setting for minimum incoming message length anywhere in the program. Is there anyway to change this. Perhaps a registry key.

I understand the purpose of this setting is to discard messages where the caller has just hung up and not left a message. But having this setting hidden and unable to be changed is just bad. It should be user-settable. Or the user should be able to set the minimum to 0 to turn it off.

I just found in the the log someone left a 4 second message that was discarded. I don't have Caller ID so I don't know who called. And I don't know if they left a really short message or not.

I had the same problem, but found a workaround to record the messages with the record-file function. Which means: don't use this "leave-msg-for xxx" but "record wave file" in the OGM settings.

There you can exactly define, how long the recoding should be, etc.

In the filename you can insert variables, so that each recording produces a different file name.

Works fine, the only problem is, that you need to set up your own menu for listening your messages.

(which I'll do anyway, because I don't like this built-in menu...)
