Zoom to selected clips???

formingus

What does this function do? When I use it Zoom, it's not as long as the selected clip! Anyone to explain? Thanks

borate

That simply expands the timeline video, to display only the clips selected as opposed to the entire project.

Thanks for the reply. So, it’s zoomed to the timeline only, not zoomed at the length of the selected clip?

borate

The length of the selected clip/s isn't changed when zoomed. Look at the timeline numbers.

Or mouse over a clip... Only the selected/zoomed clip/s are visible in the sequence.

Sorry, my English is bad. What I am trying to say is when I select an image or text and want to set a length for the video, I use zoom to the selected clip, but the image will zoom only on a little bit on timeline, not as length of selected clip. Can you explain what the purpose of this function is? Thanks.

borate

ZOOM to Selected doesn't alter the clip in any way. It's just a display change that expands the selected clip or clips to fill the timeline, as shown above, so the selected clip or clips are the only ones shown on the timeline. It doesn't change the clip length. If that's not what you are seeing, then something isn't right.

To return to the view where the entire project displays use the slider at the bottom-right of the window, or click its + and - buttons...

To change the length of a clip, drag its handles... If you can't see them, expand the timeline with the slider.

If possible, grab a video or still frame of the result you see. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, right-click the link and Share or Copy. Copy the result and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, click SHARE | SHARE and change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view.**

No need, my friend. Thanks for being polite and ready to help. I'm just wondering which function that is. As far as I can see, it's only to zoom to the selected view on the current timeline. While I am here, I would like to ask you about the new future plugin Censor. The Censor plugin is okay, but moving with the mouse is difficult to match the first frame when the screen changes. Is there any way to move the cursors with arrows to set keyframes to make the censor more accurate while catching 1st frames of video?

That is correct. It zooms to the selected clip/s on the timeline and displays the full length of the clip/s.

As for Censor, locate the first frame of the content to be censored by using the toolbar's previous/next buttons...

Launch the censor effect and, in the preview window, size and drag it over the object. Click the green + sign to create the first keyframe. After that keyframes are automatically plotted each time the censor box is sized or repositioned.

Advance the effect window cursor to where the object is no longer censored. Drag the censor effect to again cover the object. Repeat as necessary to censor end.

Unaware here of any keys that accomplish this action. Just use the mouse in the preview window.

Thank you, brother, with that seek bar you solved my problem completely. Thanks again, is there a kudos for members to rate you in this forum? So I can rate and show my appreciation to VideoPAD forum members like you...

One more question, friend, to get the final results, when I use seekbar, sometimes the timeline line with effects one will not synchronize, where do I make a mistake

BTW I didn't find the upload or insert image link hear, I tried to upload directly, I got a message You cannot paste images directly. Upload or insert images from URL.,

any way inserting image is not my concern, what about syncroization

The timeline cursor will track when dragging the cursor in the effects window. But the opposite isn't true.
