Hello everyone! Disclaimer: I’m a noob when it comes to audio comprehension.
I need to convert an MKV file (that has ‘TrueHD’ 2.0 Stereo audio within this file) into a WAV file without losing any audio quality. I need to do this so that Logic Pro can read the audio. Logic cannot read an MKV file so I need to convert it to something it can read like WAV (I’m a bit bummed I can’t completely retain ‘TrueHD’).
Is this possible? Or will Switch always perform some sort of compression even if it’s converting from one lossless format to another lossless format? If so, do you recommend other softwares (for MAC) that can get the job done? Originally, I used handbrake to convert it from TrueHD to FLAC 24-bit (as that was the only lossless option I could convert to in Handbrake). But I’m worried that the audio quality might get compressed?? <— Please let me know if there is nothing to worry about.
In summary, I just want the highest audio quality possible. If that means I need to convert it to a WAV instead of a FLAC, I’ll do it. But if there is a way to keep TrueHD…even more desirable!
Any guidance will be much appreciated!!
